If you haven't yet already figured it out, prediction markets are most useful to those who are an insider or have an edge of being closest to the source of relevant information. If you don't have either of these, you are paying an invisible tax that will drag on your overall win % to those who do But gambling on them without the above, especially when so many are subjective over objective (Do you remember whether Zelensky wore a jacket or how that settled?) is just a losing game for majority of the people doing this and it's -ev gambling. At a high level, the money you deposit and gamble is basically liquidity and an arb for those who fall into the former bucket (insiders/closest to source of information) I've used Polymarket in the past (I bet on '24 Election) but no longer bet $ in them because there is no way to ever police or have any accountability to the integrity of these markets. Even the events you want to bet on (say the '24 Election) this bet would have been better expressed likely just holding DOGE/specific crypto assets instead as a better risk/reward (ex: I should have taken a long position on DOGE if I thought Trump would win or short DOGE If I thought Kamala would win) and similar for many of the things you might be tempted to gamble on (ex: There is usually a better way to express your opinion) I also think people don't realise how difficult it is to consistently win and by definition overcome: 1) P(chance of insiders trading on information you do not have) + 2) P(chance of oracles rugging you if there is any sense of subjectivity to the result) To do well you'd have to be confident both (P) are extremely low or non existent and because I don't have any insider information & have very little faith in the process demonstrated with the resolution of the oracles on subjective markets, it's useless to try and make $ off it from my point of view. Your time is simply better spent elsewhere or thinking about better things where you are not having to overcome these headwinds For the majority of people, the best thing you can do is don't even bother to bet on them and instead just observe/watch the important markets as signal (signal being there is likely a % inflows of capital betting on them as markets grow with more liquidity that has insiders moving the lines towards what will likely be the correct resolution) for things that you think are important. This can then help you form views and opinions which hopefully can then be better expressed outside of Polymarket/Kalshi like in the example given above
