Summary

For Everyone

Stake your ETH and receive a liquid token (stETH) that earns staking rewards while staying usable across DeFi.

  • No minimum stake -- stake any amount of ETH, unlike running your own validator which requires 32 ETH
  • Stay liquid -- your stETH can be used across DeFi protocols for lending, borrowing, or liquidity provision while still earning rewards
  • Daily reward accrual -- your stETH balance updates automatically as staking rewards are distributed, no claiming needed

Lido

Stake your ETH and receive a liquid token (stETH) that earns staking rewards while staying usable across DeFi.

Prerequisites

  • OKX OnChain OS installed and OKX Agentic Wallet connected to Ethereum mainnet.
  • Have ETH in your wallet on Ethereum mainnet. Keep some ETH aside to cover gas fees for the staking transaction.
  • Be aware that stETH may trade at a slight discount or premium to ETH on secondary markets — the peg is close but not always exact.

When to Use This Skill

  • You have ETH sitting idle and want it earning yield without locking it away
  • You want staking rewards but don't have 32 ETH to run your own validator
  • You want to earn staking returns and still be able to use your assets in other DeFi activities

How It Works

You send ETH to Lido's staking contract and receive stETH in your wallet. This stETH represents your staked ETH plus any rewards it earns over time. Your balance updates daily -- if you stake 10 ETH, you'll see that number slowly grow as rewards accumulate.

Behind the scenes, Lido distributes your ETH across a set of professional node operators who run validators on your behalf. This keeps the network decentralized while letting you participate without any technical setup.

Your stETH works like any other token. You can hold it, transfer it, swap it, or deposit it into lending protocols and liquidity pools. This means your ETH is earning staking rewards and doing something else useful at the same time.

When you're ready to exit, you request a withdrawal through Lido. The protocol queues your unstaking request, and once processed, you receive your original ETH plus all earned rewards back in your wallet.
